On the other hand, my grandmother's three siblings all died within 48 hours of Diptheria. I can't imagine a mother losing all her children like that. My grandmother was born much later and was understandably overprotected!! So I don't know....I would love your thoughts on this. Also, what about the rabies vaccine? If one of your children were bitten by a rabid animal, would you vaccinate them? I understand that rabies is 100% fatal. So I'm thinking I would take my chances with the vaccine!!! But there may be much I don't know about it..... What do you think?Mama Doghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16615525330439535109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7785239994537240122.post-69275684245996766142008-12-06T11:49:00.000-05:002008-12-06T11:49:00.000-05:00I got the flu a few years ago and I survived witho...I got the flu a few years ago and I survived without a vax.

JennaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7785239994537240122.post-55534480498626766102008-12-04T15:48:00.000-05:002008-12-04T15:48:00.000-05:00I definitely am not offended by people with differ...I definitely am not offended by people with differences of opinion. Because of fear, people will run out and get a shot of who-knows-what and they have no idea what they're injecting in their bodies. I just remember being so afraid when I was a little girl that I would get polio; and having to live in that iron lung. I also remember gladly taking the vaccine to prevent it. Just the thoughts and fears of a small child reborn with all this anti-vaccine conversation. I don’t think having opposite views on some things changes our relationship as cousins. But after the Why I hate doctors part 1-10, Dr. Wal-Mart thing, followed closely by your poll on who your readers are, I really felt that I could spend my time doing other things that are more meaningful to me.

Your reading population is pretty homogenous and reacts very strongly to a different or opposite opinion. Most of the comments you see on your posts are…’thank you so much…I totally agree...great ideas’. Like you, I like to expose myself to a varied a perspectives on life but every time I had a comment on one of your posts that was not ‘on the Ginger train’ I was getting attacked by your readers, it was time to move one. Yes it is your blog that you should be able to express your opinions and beliefs but it is also a public forum where you allow others to comment. If your readers don’t want to disagree, maybe they should stick to reading blogs that are private and with whom they share like beliefs. I obviously don’t agree with most of your herbal medicine or some of your religious views but I love to hear about your family, parenting style and organizational ideas. So I came back for a visit…and …think I’ll go back to just visiting with you on FB. Unfortunately, the vaccine gets all the credit.
Not to mention the fact that mumps was not very rampant anymore when the vaccine was invented, but now we have huge mumps outbreaks, like the one 2 years ago, in which 90% of the inflicted were vaccinated against the disease.
Also, I know multiple instances when children contracted whooping cough after receiving the vaccine.
