This morning, Kyle and I found this note under our door when we crawled out of bed. We hit the sack before Pedro got home. Don't we have a thoughtful son?
It was a reminder to me to be more faithful with love notes to my kids. I will never forget the notes I got from my dad growing up. They encouraged me for years! I love writing little notes to my kids too. An encouraging word is edifying, but a written encouragement lasts much longer.
Do you write notes to your kids? Your husband?

what a wonderful tradition to pass on. :)
That is absolutely beautiful! I am so convicted that in my 'practical' personality, I rarely write my husband or children love notes, unless I am leaving them a long list of instructions I want them to do! Not exactly the same thing, huh? Thanks for sharing this lovely personal note.
How rewarding! You are blest to have each other.
I used to write a love note every day in Sharpie on my girls' napkins for their school lunches. I still leave them love notes once in a while, like when they go to camp, or if they are going overnight with someone. I always write them a letter on their birthday. It seems my girls write me notes more than I write them, now. Sometimes I take a bath or wake up in the morning and find a note of appreciation from one of the girls. It is worth more than gold!
And having just watched the Chapman family on Larry King Live, it looks like little Maria left a note for her family, too. I'm wowed.
No, but I should. I love being sneaky that way. I'll start tonight. :)
I was just thinking a couple of days ago that I should do this. Thanks for the confirmation.
I actually don't do it much with the kids yet, but I did it growing up to my parents and still do. I have done it sometimes to hubby, but I think I might try doing it more with everyone! I love notes that is why I leave them! My mom's couple of lunch notes growing up and my dad's one or two notes will always be deeply remembered! I can remember the exact scriptures, they both wrote out to this day.
Go Pedro!!
That is sooo sweet!
Very Sweet post!
My husband always leaves notes to the boys and I on a message tile we have in the kitchen. He leaves for work very early in the morning.
This post is a gentle reminder to all of us that when times are tuff, you can always fall back on the kind, encouraging, written words of a loved one.
I think the boys and I will leave him a special message on the tile for him to see when he comes home today!
I'm sorry you don't remember the lunch bag notes I wrote on your napkin when you were at O.Henry Elem. I guess you were too young to remember. Pedro is so thoughtful! I'm so proud of him for his new job that he didn't even have to apply for!
Actually, I do remember those napkin love notes, Mom. :) I LOVED those!
