Yet Another Giveaway

This teaching CD by Doug Phillips was so encouraging to Kyle and me. I just know you'll love it. Tell me about a parenting victory you've had recently and you'll be entered to win this gem.

Avery and I have been reading about people who chose to diobey God and their consequences due to disobeying. Yesterday evening Avery disobeyed Tino and she knew what she was doing you could see it in her manner of disobeying. Her consequence was not very pleasant. I quickly reminded her of how we have learned about people in the bible who disobeyed God and their consequences. In an instant she stopped crying and said I'm sorry. I told her that when we disobey there is a consequence and she saw that and recognized it for what it was, disobedience. FINALLY!! She got it! It was a great moment not just for her to see it but to also see that persistence pays off when teaching your children.

I kept giving our newly adopted son (8 months) to manny chances at unacceptable behaviour. I was frustrated and so was he. So I started treating him like everyone else and there is much less frustration between us.

My kids are really starting to understand that their lives aren't difficult and that many in the world struggle. They are more grateful as we pray for orphans and the persecuted church. Thank God, nothing worse than kids that have it all whining about how unfair their cushy lives are! Sheeesh! Alida

This may not be the type of victory you mean, but I am pretty excited that DD is now potty trained! That's a victory for me.
