She said: Oh, I'm sure you'll get pregnant again soon, because you're a good person. (She thinks I'm a saint for adopting four kids. This, after she looked at all the kids and asked if I'd given birth to all of them. ??)
It broke my heart to hear her voice her deception. God alone is good. I have been blessed over and over again in my life because God is good; not because of anything I have done.
There is none who does good, not even one.Children are a gift from God. We don't receive them because we are good, but because He is good.
-Psalm 14:3
For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
-Romans 3:9-12
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
-Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-Romans 6:23

May the Lord bless you with another little one in his timing!
I do hope He chooses to bless you with another little blessing soon! You and your children are incredible blessings in our life.
We often hear "you are so great to do that!" in relation to foster/adoption. I finally found my favorite answer: "No, not great...just obedient." :-)
It is so sad that motherhood is viewed as a chore, or that you have to be "good" to desire many children. :( I do pray you are blessed again, because God IS good. Praise God that he send Jesus because he knew we would never be good enough.
Stacy,
I love your new answer. I will be using it when I'm told how brave I am.
Amen!
So true Ginger. It is by his grace and love that we are blessed. Not by our deeds but by being his child.
A wise preacher wrote on my sisters blog,"Praise God for his blessings, I'm so glad he blesses me just because I'm his."
We do hope for your blessing of a baby. We too are waiting for a little one too.

When we can begin to see the Holiness of God as revealed through His law & through Jesus Christ, then any good works is as filthy rags.
Is. 64:6 - For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment.
You can put fine silk on a leper but it doesn't change who we are, a filthy, evil sinner.
Beautiful Post!
It's a well loved trick of the devil....making people feel like they are "good enough" since they aren't as bad as that guy over there. Since they are "good enough" they don't see their need for a Savior. They go along their lives being moral and upright and sadly, find themselves lacking at the judgment, since they don't know the Lord.
