My Favorite Pencil Sharpener

This may be the dumbest thing I've ever blogged
. . . that is, unless you have the same problem we do: pencils that are never sharp.

Once upon a time we had an electric pencil sharpener. It broke. Then I just switched to those freebie manual ones you get at office supply stores before school starts. The leads seemed to always break in those thingies!
There was actually a discussion about pencil sharpeners on a parenting forum I'm a part of. I thought: Good grief, I'm not alone in this!
And I heard about this little wonder of a pencil sharpener. It was $5 so I figured I couldn't lose, but seriously folks, this little thing has changed my life. Ok, so I can't seriously say that about a pencil sharpener, but I love it nonetheless.

Actually, I love this post. We have the same problem with pencil sharpeners and some of them end up breaking the pencil lead every time instead of sharpening it! Who knew pencil sharpening could be such a dreaded task?

I'm going to look into this for our homsschooling!

Thank you!

So what is it called and where can I buy one? I have the WORST luck with pencil sharpeners and it makes the school day WAY more stressful that it should be.

We went on a search for the perfect pencil last year after we went through 3 electric sharpeners and couldn't find a pencil that sharpened well.

We discovered the Black Warriors and somehow found a decent sharpener. :)

I nagged Dad until he relented and gave me his manual pencil sharpener from the garage.
I love that sharpener and so do the kids. Just like they had in the school rooms when I was little.

I had the same problem- went through so many electric sharperers it just about drove me crazy!! Then I got an old fashioned manual crank one and mounted it on the wall in our laundry room and it works great- as long as I empty it often enough. I am going to check out this one though- it would be good to have a decent portable one. Thanks :)
