Misha

Have I ever told you about our kitty, Misha? Well, she's not really a kitty anymore; she's 5 years old, but we call her Misha kitty. Misha is a Devon Rex, a hypoallergenic cat that we bought from a breeder because I'm allergic to cats and dogs.
Devon Rex cats don't have guard hair, only down, and it's wavy. I personally think she's beautiful, but we have heard more than once, "That is a cat, right?" She plays fetch occasionally, she's super patient with the kids, and she's very loving.

I love my Misha, probably mostly because she's the only affectionate pet (no the parrots don't count) I've had that I could still breathe around. I love that feeling- you know the one where your lungs are expanding and contracting as they should and you're not gasping for breath? That feeling. I've grown to really enjoy it.

Wow, a hypoallergenic cat!! What will they breed next?! I am glad you get to enjoy a "pet."

It really works? I am terribly allergic to cats and dogs too. I can't breathe when I am around them and my eyes swell shut etc. I know that my children would LOVE to have a pet like a kitty, but I never thought it was possible. Several allergists that I have been to have told me that my allergies are not only to the dander but also the saliva. Maybe my allergies are different. I will have to look into this and see what I can find out. I am sure that there are no "spit-free" pets, LOL! ;)

I have the same reaction, Jenni, to regular cats. But Misha sleeps in my bed. I think that's testimony enough. :D

I love it--spit free cats--can I order a smell free and spit free dog?!

I'll have to tell my sister about this breed. She is highly allergic too and LOVE cats. I'm glad you found a pet that you can breathe around. I'm a pet lover too. :)

So are they costly cats?
My husband and 1 DD are allergic to cats.

Um, yes, they're costly to buy, if you've only ever gotten pets from the shelter.
Not costly to keep. :)
