The Mohawk

Whenever Kyle cuts the boys' hair, I always have him do a mohawk first. I think it's hilarious.
Step 1: Wrap a Peptobismol pink towel around the victim. (Someone actually gave me a set of four of these as a graduation gift. My dorm room was decorated blue and red. However, these towels may well be the longest lastest graduation gift I received.)
Step 2: Rev up the clippers. Every once in a while, gasp and say: "Oh nuts!!" Then calmly add: "Oh well, it's just hair."
Step 3: Trim the left side, then the right side, but leave the middle well enough alone.
Step 4: Inspect the cut to make sure it's even. Frown so everyone present will know how serious you take this.
Step 5: Despite your better judgment, obey your teenage brother, unbutton your shirt, and pose like the Mr. T you look like. Wait a minute, you need a bunch of bling on that hairless chest of yours. Oh well, maybe next time.

That is hilarious! He really is adorable, you know.

Should I post what I did to my son during a haircut? It makes me smile even thinking about it...I just might do that today.

That is hilarious. His mohawk looks great. You should upload his pictures into the "kids with mohawks" photo album at The Mohawk Hair Network www.MohawksRock.com

That is so funny, we just did the same thing to Isaiah last month. Jonah even downloaded some Mr. T saying and Isaiah was spouting them perfectly. It was hilarious! I should have thought to take pictures. So how long did you leave it like that?

Um. . .it's still like that. :D

OK, you're brave Ginger. Have you actually taken him out like that? I let him keep it like that over night and then couldn't bring myself to let him out of the house with it. I can't stand it when I see other kids with "hawks" so I didn't want to perpetuate it with him. Of course we live in an area that is crazy trendy about mohawks on their kids because of the dirt biking community. It drives me crazy the way they dress their kids and have silouettes of naked women on their cars (with their children riding in them!) I could go on and on... :)

We went to the Zoo the day after Kyle cut it. I tho't it was funny. . .for awhile, then it embarrassed me. I went and bought him a had the next day. LOL! We'll be shaving that midsection off today. ;)

Oh, and we don't have any naked women, silhouettes or otherwise, on our van. :D

I had to smile at this. My son has asked for years for a mohawk and during headshavings we always give a reverse mohawk. Well today after asking since he was 3 my son got his first mohawk. He is now 7. We talked about it since christmas, and let his hair grow, because he wanted spikes. He now has a spikes that are about 2 1/2 inches long. I hope it phases out and he wants it shaved after the attention he will get, but for now it is a cute novelty. After all it is only hair, it all grows back. Just thought I would share. :)
